Clair Xing
Clair is a sophomore at Burnaby Central Secondary School and currently serves as the Manager of Outreach and Communications for BCWY.
Clair’s passion for addressing women’s issues was sparked by a school project on discrimination in the fourth grade. Although the project primarily focused on issues of race and ethnicity, Clair recognized early on that discrimination also extends to gender. This realization ignited her drive to address these issues and inspired her commitment to creating meaningful change through her work with BCWYA.
Outside of her nonprofit work, Clair enjoys playing volleyball, debating current issues, traveling, and snowboarding. She hopes to offer her diverse interests and proactive mindset allow her to bring a unique perspective towards this BCWYA.
In her role, Clair is dedicated to building meaningful connections with community members and partners, fostering collaborations, organizing outreach campaigns, and ensuring that BCWYA’s programs reach those who need them most. Her ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between the organization’s vision and the communities it serves.
