Muriel An is a grade 11 student at Handsworth Secondary School and currently serves as the Outreach director for the BCWYA. With a strong passion for social justice and the desire to empower other young women like herself, she is dedicated to create meaningful changes and support initiatives that advocate for women’s rights. Powerful individuals like Malala Yousafzai have inspired her greatly to create this nonprofit organization to further develop her desire to help women in need. As outreach director of the BCWYA, she plays a pivotal role in fostering community connections and voicing out the needs and concerns of other young women across BC.

Outside of the BCWYA, her hobbies include traveling, cooking, and golfing. She continues to succeed academically and obtain numerous subject awards through her school career.
